National Rescue Dog Day

Although we celebrate our rescue dogs every single day here at the Hotel, they truly deserve a national day to recognise just how special they are.

To celebrate this day, we’re delighted to share some behind the scenes photos from the Forthglade team’s recent visit to the Hotel, accompanied by their vet, Dr James Greenwood. Through their brilliant ‘Happy Paws’ initiative, they continue to make a real difference to the dogs in our care. As part of our partnership, Forthglade generously provide nutritious meals and treats to support the dogs at the Hotel, and all adopted dogs are sent home with their own Forthglade rehoming pack.

We sat down in our summer house to talk about all things rescue dogs and how we continue to make those second chances possible here at the Hotel. Naturally, we couldn’t resist involving some of our resident dogs in these conversations and of course, paying the obligatory treat tax.

Together, we’ve also created a rescue booklet, packed with practical advice and tips to support you and your dog as you settle into your new life together. Everyday we witness how welcoming a rescue dog into your home is not only an act of love, but also a commitment to patience and dedication. That’s why we are proud to support families as they prepare for this exciting chapter, ensuring they are equipped to help their new best friend put their “best paw forward”.

You can explore the rescue booklet by visiting Forthglade’s canine community here.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Forthglade for their continued support. Their dedication has truly made a difference to the dogs in our care and the residents at the Hotel eagerly await more exciting visits in the future.

Finally, we’d like to wish everyone a very happy ‘National Rescue Dog Day’ from all the dogs here at the Hotel. Why not mark the occasion by taking a look at our current residents who are hoping to find a sofa of their own? Click here to meet them.
